 Introduction

 

In 1994, the Talsarnau Angling Association amalgamated with the Artro Angling Association to form a stronger club.

The club is now known as Cymdeithas Bysgota Artro & Talsarnay Fishing Association and boasts, at present, 6 lakes and 2 rivers.

Permits

 

You may obtain a permit for a day, a week or full season, allowing you to fish for Trout, Sea-Trout, Salmon or for course fish on any of our waters, provided you have an appropriate Environment Agency Rod Licence.

Anglers may take day only permits for coarse fishing.

Permits are available from:

 

Beachcaster Tackle Shop, Barmouth.

Premier Stores, Newsagents, Llanbedr.

Murphy's Newsagents, Harlech.

Post Office, Talsarnau.

Penrhyn Guns & Tackle, Penrhyndeudraeth.

Fishing Season

 

Our season starts and ends as Environment Agency:

Trout and Sea-Trout

 20 March - 17 October

Below Llanbedr Bridge

31 May - 17 October

  Salmon

 17 May - 17 October

  Course Fish

 No closed Season

 

 

 Rules

 

1. Environment Agency Licence is also required.

2. Start / End of fishing season shall be per EA rules.

3. A member is allowed to fish with a single rod & line only

4. The association permit is not transferrable, must be carried when fishing and be available on request.

5. Bag limit of four fish per day has been set for all association waters or combination of waters.

6. Ground baiting, swim feeders are prohibited.

7. Members are required to keep to recognised paths, to close all gates, not to damage walls, fences or crops.

8. No keep nets (except for coarse fishermen at Llyn Tecwyn Isaf).

9. No dogs allowed near waters.

 Local Rules

 

Nantcol Dam

1. No fishing off dam

2. Footbridge above dam to be used for access to opposite bank.

3. Fishing only between dawn and dusk.

 

Eiddew Lakes

1. Limited access for disabled members only. Key held at Murphy's Newsagents, Harlech. (Deposit of £5)

 

Lake Tecwyn Isaf

1. Fishing dawn to dusk only.

2. Barbless or microbarb hook only.

3. All coarse fish to be returned to water unharmed.

 

River Artro

1. No sewin fry, salmon fry, smelts or kelts shall be taken.

2. Only on tube flies spinners can treble hooks be used (max of 2 hooks).

3. Max hook size - 6

4. No spinning permitted during low waters.

5. No fishing from holding pool weir.
