RIVERS
THE GLYN THE ARTRO

May be fished from Glan y Wern, 31/2 miles north of Harlech, all the way up to its source at Llyn Tecwyn Isaf.

The river holds Brown Trout, Sea Trout & Salmon and is known for its late season runs.

The river Artro runs through the small, picturesque village of Llanbedr. This splendid river may be fished from the weir pool car park, west of the Victoria Hotel, up to Cwm yr Afon bridge, about 4 miles up the Cwm Bychan valley. Like many others, the river has been in decline over the years but has been shown to be improving rapidly with good returns in the 2001-02 seasons with an 11 lb salmon the best fish of 2002.

The river can be fished for Brown Trout, Sea Trout & Salmon.

LAKES

LLYN CWM NANTCOL

GR 6026

LLYN TECWYN UCHAF

GR 6438

A small, peaceful lake surrounded by trees, this lake was actually man-made by damming the river Nantcol for generating electricity.

The lake is stocked 2-3 times annually with either Rainbow or Brown Trout.

This is the largest of our lakes, providing water for the Penrhyndeudraeth and Porthmadog area and is stocked annually with Brown Trout. Be warned; catch a resident Brown or even a Loch Leven Trout and you'll have a fight on your hands!

Wild Brown Trout have been caught up to 5lb in weight.

LLYN TECWYN ISAF

GR 6237

LLYN Y FEDW

GR6232

This is the only coarse fishing lake at present, has easy access from the road and is stocked with Carp, Perch and Rudd, with good natural and man-made swims.

A must for the coarse angler, this lake also holds wild Brown Trout.

This lake entails a good walk, situated about 1000ft above Harlech. The wild Brown Trout are renowned for their cleanliness & fine markings and grow to quite respectable sizes.

The walk home will give superb views of Cardigan Bay and the Llyn Peninsula.

LLYN EIDDEW MAWR & BACH

GR6433

As the names inform you ('bach' is small; 'mawr' is large), these lakes are only a few hundred yards away from each other, the largest about 100ft lower.

A must for the keen walker & angler, the track up to these lakes is a 30-45 minute walk but the views are spectacular and the returns can be very rewarding.

Both have natural wild Brown Trout.
